About
Every great company has something that sets them apart. The Callaway’s is making small businesses big and big businesses small.
I opened The Callaway in 2016 because I wanted to help Nashville’s creative community get the attention it deserves. With almost 30 years of experience in media — including a decade as a fashion journalist in New York City — I knew how to get national exposure for this city’s talented designers, makers and artists, many of whom I call good friends.
Small, local businesses were The Callaway’s specialty early in the game. But thanks to Nashville’s massive growth spurt, that changed pretty quickly. I started getting calls from some of the big luxury brands I’d worked with in New York, asking for help reaching local customers as they entered Nashville’s quickly expanding retail market. My extensive contacts and ability to communicate easily and effectively in the local and national media arenas have been essential to The Callaway’s success.
Four years later, my company is known for elevating local designers and makers to a larger stage through strategic brand-building and press outreach. Conversely, if an established national company comes to town, looking for an authentic way to reach their target clientele, we craft a thoughtful approach that makes sure they integrate into our community in an authentic way.
And we don’t just grow other people’s companies. Our growing roster of in-house brands includes The Callaway Report, featuring the stories of fascinating creative Nashvillians; The Callaway’s Guide to Nashville, our Music City best-of list; and Greetings From Nashville, a roving pop-up concept that introduced our creative community to other cities. Since launching in 2018, GFN has logged month-long residencies in Brooklyn and Charleston, SC.
What’s next for The Callaway? For now, a greater focus on content creation; more retail and interior design projects; and custom products made in collaboration with our talented friends. As far as I’m concerned, the sky’s the limit.
